UPDATE: NetherRealm and WB Games have officially announced that the Klassic MK Movie Skin Pack is available now, and includes the likenesses and voices of Christopher Lambert as “Protector of Earthrealm Raiden,” Linden Ashby as “Hollywood Kombatant Johnny Cage” and Bridgette Wilson-Sampras as “Island Bound Sonya Blade.”
Months after dataminers had found evidence of NetherRealm using the actor voices from the original 1995 Mortal Kombat film, co-creator Ed Boon had decided to confirm things and showed a brief look at character skins for Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate based on the original actors’ likenesses last night before today’s official announcement.
Seeing (and hearing) Christopher Lambert’s Raiden is a welcome addition, as are Bridgette Wilson-Sampras and Linden Ashby as Sonya and Johnny Cage, respectively. It’s unfortunate that we aren’t getting Robin Shou’s Liu Kang or Talisa Soto’s Katana, but hey, who knows what Ed Boon will surprise us with next.
Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate is out now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One consoles, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
