The OnePlus 8T Cyberpunk 2077 Edition looks great and is now available to pre-order. However, the limited availability is going to make it significantly harder for any potential buyers to pick one up. Over the past few weeks and months, the latest OnePlus flagship has garnered a lot of attention, and its adrenaline-fueled promotional content even included a video featuring Robert Downey Jr.
The Cyberpunk 2077 edition was only recently announced and while it includes similar internals, it looks very different to the original model. Other than its Cyberpunk 2077-inspired design, the futuristic flagship smartphone variant also comes with a massive camera module that’s even wider than on the standard OnePlus 8T. While the special edition collaboration was previously thought to be a China-exclusive, it is now clear that it is unlikely to become available in international markets as well.
Based on the official product page, the OnePlus 8T Cyberpunk 2077 edition pre-orders went live on November 2, over a month ahead of the game’s release, which has been further delayed to December 10. Given that the limited edition OnePlus 8T can only be accessed through the Chinese site, and is nowhere to be found on any of the international OnePlus websites, its current availability seems limited to China. As for the smartphone itself, it retails for 3,999 Chinese Yuan, which is about $600. Despite coming with a few extra Cyberpunk 2077 goodies, as well as a unique design, the limited-edition phone actually comes out cheaper than the standard 8T model, which retails at $749.
How The OnePlus 8T Cyberpunk 2077 Edition Compares
The Cyberpunk 2077 edition comes with pretty much the same internal specs and high-end features as the original OnePlus 8T. This includes a Snapdragon 865 chipset, 4,500mAh capacity battery, and Warp Charge 65 support. Although given the limited edition variant’s bulkier-looking exterior, it is slightly heavier coming in at 194 grams, compared to the original model’s 188 grams.
While the changes might seem as minimal as the OnePlus 8T’s differences with its older counterpart, the Cyberpunk 2077 edition still has a few tricks up its sleeve in the form of some eye-catching accessories. Aside from the usual USB-C cable, fast-charging power adapter, and SIM tool, owners will also be getting one of six unique badges representing the game’s rival factions, along with a protective case that also fits in with the game’s theme. Of course, all of this will be wrapped in Cyberpunk 2077 stylized collectible packaging. Unfortunately, fans hoping to grab this special edition OnePlus 8T outside of China won’t have much choice, other than trying to import the phone.
